This darling cottage (with gourmet kitchen & heated patio) is perfectly located 1.5 blocks off Fillmore Street; steps from fine dining, high end shops, neighborhood eateries, a gourmet grocery store, public transportation, and one of the city's best parks.
The Space
On the main level of this single family home, you'll find a newly renovated gourmet kitchen with counter seating for 3-4 that opens to a light-filled living room on one side and directly to the rear, a unique covered heated patio (complete with Lynx grill) with a dining table that can seat 8 comfortably.
Two bedrooms, master with a queen bed and our 12 year old daughter's room has a twin bed (a twin bed is a single bed that sleeps one person) and a full bathroom with tub complete the main floor.
Downstairs is the third bedroom (aka den), with pullout couch, built in stereo and flat screen tv, and a 3/4 bath (stand up shower, no tub). The washer and dryer are on this level.
What makes this home so unique is its perfect location: 1.5 blocks from Fillmore Street, .5 to 1.5 blocks to 3 bus lines, 1.5 blocks South of Alta Plaza park, and a quiet setting. Double-paned windows, no upstairs or downstairs neighbors, and this one block alley (with little to no traffic) ensure that you'll have a peaceful night's sleep after exploring all that this city has to offer.
Guest Access
You'll have full use of the house, including washer/dryer, Lynx gas grill, internet, TV, etc. Please note that this is our primary residence and there will be clothes in the drawers and closets, as well as food items.
Interaction with Guests
If anything should arise, we will be accessible via cell, email, or text; likely 1.5 hours outside of SF in the Napa Valley at our weekend home. We have close neighbors on standby who can help in an emergency.
The Neighborhood
With a Walk Score of 98 out of 100, this house is the perfect home base for your San Francisco trip. Less than 2 blocks from the famous upper Fillmore corridor and exciting shops, as well as fine dining coupled with local eateries, plus easy public transportation, means the city is at your fingertips - literally. Restaurants like Pizzeria Delfina, SPQR, Via Veneto, Woodhouse, ROAM, The Snug, The Grove, Pride of the Mediterranean, Bun Mee, Chouquet, Troya, Jane, and Bistro Florio are a just a few blocks away.
Shopping destinations include 45R San Francisco, Athleta, Eileen Fisher, Jarbo, Mio, Paige, Rui, Scotch & Soda, Velvet by Graham & Spencer, rag & bone, Alice + Olivia, Benefit, Heidi Says, Kiehls. There are two Starbucks and a Peets Coffee within 2 blocks, as well as a Mollie Stone's (gourmet grocery store) within a block.
You are one and a half blocks from San Francisco's Alta Plaza park, with other walkable neighborhoods nearby including the Marina, Cow Hollow, Presidio Heights, and Lower Fillmore (Japantown).
Getting around
Three major bus lines are .5 to 1.5 blocks away from our home, and offer easy access down to the Marina, the Haight, downtown, Presidio Heights, etc.
Taxis frequently pick up on California or Fillmore Streets (~1 block away) and Uber is always very quick for a ride to the airport.
You really don't need a car in this neighborhood, but free street parking is available on the weekends with no time limits (2 hour max during the week, without permit), there is a metered lot within 1/2 block, and a covered pay garage about 5 blocks away. Weekday parking permits are available for $15 per day or $61 for 2 weeks (city does not offer 1 week parking permits). We need at least 2 weeks notice to order parking permits.
