2 Bedroom House in Norfork
Our vacation house is located on the banks of White River within 400 yards of the Norfork River/White River confluence. Boat rentals and a fishing tackle store are five minutes away in the town of Norfork. The house has river views from the living room, kitchen, dining room plus the screened-in back porch and can easily accommodate six people or more people. The river is literally at our back door so is not appropriate for young children. We are four miles from Norfork Dam/the Ackerman wade access on the Norfork River and the house is located in a peaceful attractive residential area. Due to a city ordinance for this residential area, we must rent our house for a minimum of a 30 consecutive days. Short term rentals are not allowed. Consequently, we are offering a rental rate for 30 days which is very competitive with the weekly rate advertised by resorts in the area which can legally do shorter term rentals. The advantage of choosing us is that you get 30 day base for doing a variety of different activities in the Norfork area. For example, if you live in Little Rock or Memphis you could spend 4 weekends in Norfork fishing and go back to work in the week. No one else will have access to the house during your rental period. If you are from farther afield and enjoy fly fishing, you could spend a few days experiencing wade fishing at the Ackermann access on the Norfork river (5 min drive from the house), then do float trips for a few days away from the house on the Buffalo National River (and try your hand at smallmouth, etc), then return to the house for few days of relaxation before trying more trout fishing day trips on the White River around the Cotter area (30 min drive the house). One can imagine many other types of adventures around the Norfork area.
The Ozark Highland Trail is nearby if you interested in hiking. Scenic Buffalo City is 17 miles away, where the Buffalo National River flows into the White River. Towns of Mountain Home and Mountain View are 10-15 miles away. The house has a large two car garage (we keep our car there), a well furnished kitchen, bedding, towels, etc. provided. Washer and dryer on site. We recently added internet access and a 40” tv screen for our guests. Great base for many trout, smallmouth and lake fishing spots in Northwest Arkansas.
We understand a stay of 30 days can be a long time without your cherished pet, please contact us for specific arrangements (sleeping location, additional deposit, etc.)
Finally, we have a comfortable vacation house with an amazing view of the White River but it is not a resort. There are little quirks as all houses will have. But we love the relaxed atmosphere on the river and feel it is a bargain for the area.
