The Neighborhood:
Heavenly, one of the largest ski resorts in the world, offers amazing views from slopes as wide and smooth as highways. This huge resort has absolutely everything, not only these giant slopes with incredible views, but also off-road parks, mogul ski trails with names like Gunbarrel, and peaceful, untrodden open spaces where the world seems to disappear in snowy bliss.
Getting Around:
Heavenly has also increased the fun, even if you don't ski or snowboard. Ziplines have been installed over the mountain as well as tracks for inflatables, and you can enjoy beautiful cable car rides and a festive atmosphere, both on and off the mountain. All of this makes it especially popular with international travelers who may be new to snow sports. The on-mountain Tamarack Lodge comes alive at the end of the day with its après Unbuckle party; you don't have to be a skier or snowboarder to join in the fun. The village at the base of Heavenly is another big attraction, with an ice skating rink, outdoor bonfires and a wide variety of restaurants. Heavenly straddles the California/Nevada border, and the adjacent state line area offers high-end entertainment and gaming at casinos and luxury hotels.
