This secondary listing is for 3 bedrooms, 2 baths (sleeping 6 or less), living, dining, kitchen (the entire downstairs), pool, and yard area. This listing is for smaller groups that may not need all 25 beds. It includes 3 bedrooms and 2 baths (downstairs). Upstairs will be locked and empty (no other renters) during your reservation.

There is a master suite with a king-sized bed & attached bathroom with jetted tub & separate shower.

There are also two queen bedrooms and a second bathroom.

The Log Cabin sits on 6.5 acres just west of Canton, Texas. The Cabin, yard, pool, and play area are on one acre, and the remaining 5.5 are a combination of active livestock pasture and lovely woods.

As you enter the property, turn right and proceed into the circle drive. In front of you, you'll notice signs indicating guest parking. Just beyond that, you'll find a tree-shaded children's play area featuring a saucer swing, sandbox, climbing platforms, and a slide. When evening comes, automatic café lights will illuminate the play area, creating a warm, inviting country atmosphere.

If you look to your left, you'll see the pasture, where you might spot some cattle. In the spring, you could even catch a glimpse of a newborn calf or two. Further into the pasture, there’s a fishing pond where you're welcome to cast a line.

Shifting your focus back to the play area, you can catch a view of the Cabin, along with the backyard and pool area.

The large Cabin, grounds, pool, livestock, wooded area, and pasture all require ongoing, active management and maintenance. There's a small secondary cabin connected to the north side of the Log Cabin, which is where we live.

To ensure guest privacy and comfort, each cabin has its own entrance and parking area. The Log Cabin parking is located to the south, while the Host Cabin parking is to the north, behind a wooden privacy gate. The cabins are also separated by a wooden privacy fence at the back.

Whatever you envision for your vacation, you can make it happen at The Log Cabin. Whether you're looking for fun-filled summer days by the pool, crisp fall evenings making s'mores at the fire pit, or romantic candle-lit nights for two in the poolside spa, The Log Cabin has something for everyone. We've hosted family staycations, reunions, high school friend gatherings, lodging for golf tournaments, First Monday shopping groups, cousins' retreats, church retreats, anniversary weekends, birthday parties, and even intimate weddings.

Located an hour east of Dallas, an hour west of Tyler, and four hours north of Houston, we're perfectly situated for groups coming together from all over. We're close enough to Canton for a quick trip to town for groceries, yet far enough down tree-lined county roads to offer a quiet and peaceful retreat for you and your guests.

Visiting guests have access to the Log Cabin, the backyard south of the wooden fence that separates the host area from the guest space, the pool, the south yard with the children's play area, the pasture (please remember to close the gate to keep the cattle in), and the pond. We're also in the process of clearing a walking path in the wooded area for future guest use.

The only areas off-limits to guests are the host area, the workshop attached to the pool pavilion (which holds tools and maintenance equipment), the barn by the pond (which holds yard equipment), the garage (which is owner storage), the main pantry in the cabin (which stores custodial supplies), and one of the closets in the master bathroom (which contains personal off-season clothing storage).

We have a rental agreement that is required to be signed by the booking guest. It is included in the online check-in website that will be sent to you a few days prior to your stay.

Third-party reservations (one person booking for someone else, and the booking person won't be staying) are against VRBO Terms of Service.

The Log Cabin isn't an appropriate venue for a house party. In the event of a house party, the reservation will be canceled immediately, without refund, and the Van Zandt County Sheriff will escort attendees off the property.

Smoking is allowed outside, but not inside. Please dispose of butts properly, so little children do not find them around the yard.

Please respect our neighbors. It's a family neighborhood, and everyone knows everyone. If our guests get out-of- control-rowdy, it will cause problems for everyone. All of the neighbors are kind people, they'll just smile and wave. We just want to treat them all with respect.

When we're not traveling, we live in the host cabin, which is attached to but separate from the main cabin. Each space has its own entrance, and a privacy fence separates the host area from the guest space. You likely won’t see us at all, and there's no need to worry about us seeing you. For added privacy, there are external curtains on the patio that you can close to block any view from the host cabin. Rest assured, noise won’t be an issue either, as the cabins are well-insulated, so we won’t hear you unless you're hosting a rave (please don’t...).

If you need anything, feel free to call or text Julie. In the event of severe weather or a maintenance issue, or if we need to address something on the grounds such as pool maintenance/mowing/tending to fencing/livestock/tree maintenance, etc we will contact you to let you know what we need to address, but, except in the event of an emergency, we will never enter the guest property without contacting you and arranging an appropriate time (in fact, our insurance policies forbid it). We will be available if you need us, but if you don’t, you won’t see us—except maybe when we’re leaving the driveway. If we’re traveling during your stay, we will assign a co-host to assist you with any emergencies or maintenance needs.
