Located less than 2 miles from Orchard Beach State Park, this lakeside cottage is minutes away from several pristine sandy beaches, natural parks, historic attractions, and the Riverwalk and Social District in downtown Manistee.
Reeds on Bar Lake offers relaxing waterfront views from a spacious, private backyard that boasts a large deck with furniture, fire pit with Adirondack chairs, and a 3 burner gas grill.
The cottage has a bright and airy feel thanks to it's open concept living, dining, and kitchen space, that is naturally lit from the large windows. With two bedrooms, the cottage can sleep 5; the master bedroom has a queen sized bed with memory foam mattress and the second bedroom is equipped with twin over full bunk beds - all made up comfortably with clean, white linens. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the essentials and has brand new appliances, should you choose to bring out your inner chef during your stay. The cottage is equipped with internet, cable, and you can sign into streaming services on the TV via the connected roku stick. Though we recommend taking advantage of the beautiful surroundings and getting out of the house to explore all the shops, restaurants, pubs, historic sites, and coastal scenery that Manistee has to offer.
The cottage was built in 1950 and although it has great bones and lots of updates, there are some remaining quirks, please take note for your stay...
-The bedroom door frames swell when the humidity is high and take a bit of a nudge to close.
-The cottage is on well water. The water has been tested and is verified 100% safe for hygiene purposes and consumption, but as is common with well water, it has a sulfuric smell. A new water filtration and softener system was installed, which remedied the smell in the cold water, but there is a strong sulfur smell that still remains when running the hot water. The hosts are actively working with a contractor to resolve this, but cannot guarantee it's remedied prior to any reservations. A Brita pitcher for drinking water is provided for guests' use.
