Travel Purpose: business

Positive: The location was perfect. It is located on the top of a very steep hill but there is a bus stop and market that is an easy walk just a little over two blocks away. After staying in downtown San Francisco several times I swore I would never do that again. Potrero is a very nice neighborhood and a bus can get you downtown and wherever else you might want to go. An all day pass for public transportation is five dollars which is a bargain. There are so many dining options in Potrero you never really need to go downtown unless you want to do Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown or some of the other tourist hot spots. Cathryn is a great host and the view at the Nest is second to none because you are at the top of the hill in Potrero. The deck in the front of the house faces east and is great for late afternoon gatherings. The deck on the back of the house faces west and the view is tremendous. A parking garage is at the hospital which is at the foot of the hill but we never really had an issue with street parking right outside the Nest. We had no issue with the stairs. Bedrooms are on the second floor and the kitchen and living room are on the third floor.

Negative: Walking down the hill was a bit of a challenge but walking up is an even greater challenge and might not be for everyone. The walk to the bus stop however is an easily managed grade both ways and the cost of a Lyft from the bottom of the hill to the top was eight dollars for three of us.

Summary: I know where I'll be staying on my next trip to San Francisco.
