Imagine falling asleep after a glorious sunset to the sound of waves lapping the shore. This amazing 5 bedroom, 4 1/2 bath masterpiece will provide a vacation of a lifetime. Oxnard Shores, a little-known beach community in Ventura County, CA is the perfect place to beat the heat and avoid the crowds. You will feel like you are on a private beach as few know about this hidden gem (except on the 4th of July!). After enjoying Frisbee, corn hole, spike ball, or just laying on the beach, you can relax or play fuse ball, billiards, air hockey, or ping pong in the luxurious 6300 sq ft open concept house.
Floor to ceiling sliding windows in the main living area open to to let the sea breeze in, chef's gourmet kitchen with 6 burners, double oven, double islands, and oversized refrigerator. The game room with 80 inch TV, oversized couch, pool table, fuse ball, and arcade style air hockey table. And there is a ping pong table in the garage.
Large formal dining table seats 10 and kitchen island breakfast bar that seats 6. Bottom level has 2 guest rooms that share a full bath. Upstairs is a palatial master bedroom with equally palatial bathroom and walk-in closet (and a telescope!). The ocean view from the bathtub is not to be missed. Also upstairs is a second master with king bed and deluxe en suite with shower and free-standing bathtub. The third bedroom has two double beds and full en suite.
Unique to this beach house is the outdoor living area, two full-size decks, one on the beach front and one on the back with a mountain view, and a large courtyard right off the kitchen for alfresco dining. There are games and puzzles available. Parking for up to 6 cars, 3 in the garage and 3 in the driveway, and ample nearby parking on Mandalay Beach Rd. There is no cable TV, so bring your streaming service sign-in credentials.
Naturally occurring tar/oil is occasionally present on the beach near the water line so make sure to pack a pair of "disposable" shoes or flip-flops. Beautiful sea glass is often found here.
Ventura Harbor is a few miles to the north and has restaurants, shops, and a TikTok famous ice cream parlor. Main St. in downtown Ventura has lots of restaurants and is great to walk around. Oxnard Harbor is a mile or so south with a farmer's market on Sunday mornings. Santa Barbara is about 30 minutes north on the 101, with famous State St downtown, and a great zoo near the ocean and perfect for kids.
During the summer rentals run from Friday to Friday.
From Memorial Day to Labor Day, we generally rent from Friday to Friday.
By Oxnard City ordinance: 1) No loud noises after 10 PM that can bother the neighbors, 2) A limit of 10 people can sleep overnight, 3) up to 16 people are allowed during the day, 4) there is a 10% transient occupancy tax.
The views from this house can't be beat. On a clear day you can see the Channel Islands miles out to sea.
