The city is headquarters to a number of notable companies, and at the same time extremely convenient, with a variety of cafes, restaurants, and shops, including several large grocery stores. There are a number of lovely outdoor spaces, including Mission Hill Park and Val Vista Park. Golfers will love the variety of courses nearby, and there are also excellent hiking trails in the area. Pleasanton is also the site of the Alameda County Fairgrounds, which hosts a county fair the last week of June and the first week of July each year.
